Tools Tier List

This Tools Tier List ranks on-person Peel THE Potato upgrades by progression value toward a faster escape. Categories are editorial groupings based on the live loop (dig mountain → basket → peel → sell → Key → Vault) and on what community automation repeatedly targets—Auto Buy Tools, Auto Upgrade Tools, Fast Walk, and related features. Patch notes can reshuffle grades overnight.

For machine-side rankings see Machines Tier List. Spend philosophy lives in Upgrades and Machines.

S tier — buy when they fix your funnel

Primary dig tools (high yield upgrades)

Anything that meaningfully raises potatoes per swing or per second sits here while dig is your bottleneck. Escape speed starts with volume: more potatoes seen means more Key potato chances and more peel fuel.

Why S: without dig power, peel machines starve and Vault attempts stay theoretical.

Core basket / personal storage tools

Carry capacity upgrades that cut trip count. A strong digger with a tiny basket is a treadmill.

Why S: travel tax is silent; storage deletes it.

A tier — excellent after S foundations

Mid dig refinements

Secondary dig bumps that still help once the first big tool upgrade is owned. Great when peel and storage already keep up.

Prompt-friendly interact tools / QoL that shorten place-and-peel setup

Fair versions of “get to the stand faster and start cleaner” without needing Instant Prompt cheats. Saves seconds every cycle.

Early movement assists (modest speed)

Light movement upgrades that reduce walk time between mountain, stand, and cash-out. Stop before you look like a Fast Walk script poster on a main account you value.

B tier — situational but real

Late dig polish

Small percentage bumps after the mountain already feels fast. Buy when cash is burning and Key RNG is the only wall left.

Niche class-synergy tools

Items that shine only with certain class rolls. Check Players / Controls before forcing them onto a mismatched class.

Convenience gadgets

Helpers that smooth inventory juggling but rarely change a clear time by themselves. Useful during messy multiplayer moments in ~16-player servers.

C tier — luxury, flex, or premature

Cosmetic tool skins

Cool. Not escape speed. Buy after your first Vault clear if you still care.

Extreme movement / novelty tools

If it plays like Noclip or blatant speed abuse, expect scrutiny—and remember the Scripts Hub ban warning if you were tempted by executors instead.

Duplicate tool paths

Owning two overlapping dig options while storage is still tiny is classic C-tier planning.

Sample buy order (fair play)

  1. First major dig tool
  2. Basket / personal storage
  3. Reassess peel bottleneck (peel minigame)
  4. Mid dig or interact QoL
  5. Movement assist if walks still dominate
  6. Late polish only during Key hunts

When the Key potato drops, stop tool shopping and execute How to Escape.

How scripts distort perception

Auto Upgrade Tools and Auto Buy Tools can purchase out of order, dumping cash into A/B items while storage lags. Softkillz-style Auto buy storage on the machine side can also desync your plan. Use this list manually. Prefer official play.

Re-rank mentally after every content drop. S-tier dig today might be A-tier tomorrow if peel ratios change—escape speed is a moving target on a live Roblox hit with millions of visits.

No—commit to the Vault path in How to Escape.
